Dr. Belyi received his PhD in University of South Florida. His research lies in the fields of operator theory, functional analysis, and system theory. His current research project has applications in mathematical physics as well.

I grew up in Andalusia, Alabama and received both my bachelor's degree and my master's degree from Troy University. I have been teaching math for almost twenty years, but my years at Troy have been by far my favorite. I started at Troy as an adjunct instructor in the fall of 2009 and became a full-time lecturer in the fall of 2014. I teach many of the introductory level math courses as well as a math concepts course for elementary education majors. I am passionate about teaching, I love my students, and I am proud to be Troy Trojan!

I grew up in Brundidge, Alabama and graduated from Pike County High School. I have a Bachelor of Science and a Master's of Science Degree, both in Comprehensive Mathematics Education from Troy University and 16 years of experience teaching math. I have taught Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Pre-Calculus Algebra and Finite Math at Troy University. Presently, I am teaching Intermediate Algebra for TROY Online and Pre-Calculus Algebra and Finite Math in the classroom. I love to teach math and enjoy working with students.

I earned my M.S. in Mathematics at the University of Rhode Island in 1986. I earned my Ph. D. in Mathematics at the University of Connecticut in 1997. I do not have a B. S. When I was at the University of Rhode Island they had a program for early admission to graduate school. You could be admitted if you had "an outstanding record based on grades, recommendations and Graduate Record Exam (standardized test) scores." If there was one thing I was always good at it was standardized tests. I did well enough that I was accepted for early admission to graduate school, without getting a Bachelor's Degree. My thesis was in Abstract Algebra. I love Abstract Algebra. But I like to think of myself as a jack of all trades. I like to look at a variety of different types of Math and Science. In my job at Troy University Dothan Campus, I get to teach a wide variety of classes, which I enjoy. In addition to my mathematics classes, the University of Alabama has a distance program in Mechanical Engineering. I was a Mechanical Engineering major many years ago for one year. I took Statics, Dynamics, and Strength of Materials. I enjoy helping engineering students with their coursework, in spite of the fact that I have not taken these classes. The classes are mainly applied Physics and Math. I also enjoy helping students study for the Praxis test in Mathematics. I enjoy trying to figure things out. I enjoy doing problems.

After graduating from Troy University's Mathematics Education undergraduate and graduate programs, I have been teaching at TROY for over thirty years. Needless to say, I teach because I enjoy it and I love being at TROY! My area of specialization is Mathematics Education. I currently serve on the Executive Board of Troy-Alabama Mathematics, Science, and Technology Initiative, AMSTI, and also serve as the Secretary of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators of Alabama, AMTEA. I am a member of the Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Council of Teacher of Mathematics.

I received my PhD from Auburn University, where my research was in the area of Homological Algebra. Currently, I teach the Calculus sequence, Calculus and its Applications, Computer Programming for Mathematics, Introduction to Advanced Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Numerical Analysis, the Real Analysis sequence, Number Theory, and History of Mathematics. In the past, I have also taught Differential Equations, Complex Analysis, the Mathematical Statistics sequence, Vector Calculus and Abstract Algebra; as well as all of the "core courses" in the undergraduate Electrical Engineering curriculum.

My current interests consist of perfecting my mathematical pedagogy and mentoring students in their research.

Dr. Voloshin worked at Moldova State University and at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences (Republic of Moldova, former Soviet Union) for many years, and moved to the United States in 2002. His research areas include graph and hypergraph coloring, theory, algorithms and applications. In 1993, he originated the direction of mixed hypergraph coloring, and there are now more than 200 scientific publications on the subject, including the author's Fields Institute Monograph. His research has been repeatedly supported by many scientific foundations of Italy, Germany, Canada, China, the United States, and other countries. He was the invited speaker of many major international conferences, held visiting positions at many universities throughout the world, and supervised and was consulted on many MS and PhD theses.

I received a B.S. degree from University of Peradeniya of Mathematics in Sri Lanka, an M.S. in Statistics from the Sam Houston State University, and a Ph.D. from the Texas Tech University.
