Sharon Brandenburg received her BBA from Kennesaw College and her MSW from Valdosta State. She has worked in community mental health, child advocacy, hospice and medical social work. Ms. Brandenburg teaches classes in human services and social work. She currently teaches pre-practicum and senior seminar to social work and human services students as well as field experience. She has taught social work crisis intervention and social work with individuals. She has worked as a part time clinician at a non-profit agency for the past six years.

Mr. Eubanks earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University, Dothan Campus in 1996. Later, Mr. Eubanks earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama in 2010. Currently, Mr. Eubanks has more than 16 years of experience in child welfare and mental health social work. Mr. Eubanks has served the faculty as a lecturer since 2012. Currently, Mr. Eubanks is licensed as a Licensed Certified Social Worker and a Private Independent Practitioner with the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners.

Dr. BC Farnham has been serving Troy University and its students for greater than a decade. He is a national award winning lecturer and author, with primary focus in the areas of death and dying; health care leadership; organizational capacity building; and persons with disabilities and/or medically-fragile conditions. Dr. Farnham hold’s advanced degrees from The University of Alabama (MSW), Troy University (MBA), and Northcentral University (EdD). His work has been featured in venues ranging from CBS Television to The Journal of Social Work in End of Life & Palliative Care. Additionally, Dr. Farnham is a retained subject-matter expert for some of the largest health care organizations in the US, with primary focus in the areas of corporate staff development and training; federal compliance program development and management; and quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI).

Mrs. Hewes received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1995 and her Master of Social Work from University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) in 1998, specializing in gerontology. Since that time, she has held numerous clinical and supervisory positions throughout Alabama in the fields of mental health, veterans’ health, home health, hospice, public health, and dialysis. Mrs. Hewes has been licensed as a social worker in Alabama since 1995. She currently teaches undergraduate social work and human services courses.

Research Interests - trauma, violence, and abuse along with mental health and multicultural issues among racial minority and immigrant populations.

Dr. Oh joined Troy University after receiving her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia School of Social Work in 2013. She received an MSW from Yonsei University in 2004. She held various clinical and supervisory positions in community-based agencies and hospital settings working with domestic violence victims/offenders, sexually abused adolescents, low-income families, adults with alcohol dependency, and hospice patients and their families. Her scholarship centers on understanding the ways that various social and cultural constructs interact on multiple levels and how these intersections contribute to unique experiences of oppression and marginalization in society.

Dr. Wickersham received a B.A. in Secondary Education from Birmingham-Southern College; a MSW from the University of Alabama, with a concentration in Health/Mental Health; a MPH in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a PhD in Social Work from the University of Alabama. She has worked as an instructor at Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama and as an adjunct professor at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She teaches courses in Human Services (Survey of Human Services, Fundamentals of Case Management) and Social Work (Introduction to Social Work, Social Work with Individuals, Research I and II, Social Work in Healthcare, and Social Work Pre-Practicum/Practicum). Dr. Wickersham currently serves as the Bachelor Program Director of Social Work for the undergraduate program. Her work experience includes working with developmentally disabled adults in day programs and alternative living situations, practicing healthcare social work in hospice and home health, as well as being employed as a hospital social services director. Currently, she is in private practice providing social work supervision in healthcare settings.
