MODULE 2: The Research Process:
Section 1 of 6, INTRODUCTION, page 2 of 2.

INTRODUCTION

A Chinese proverb states, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

The Library has fish (sources of information … books, journals, etc.); provides fishing nets and poles (the Library Catalog and numerous databases that index books, articles, and other information sources); and even gives fishing lessons (shows you how to use research tools and techniques to obtain information).

What the Library doesn’t do is help you clean or cook your fish (prepare and write your paper), but we can point you in the right direction.
