Section 3 of 3, OVERVIEW, page 1 of 1.

OVERVIEW

SERVICES AND MATERIALS

This tutorial focuses on the core resources available to Library patrons, including:

Personal assistance.

Help by e-mail, telephone, and in person. Check the appropriate Library site for contact information.

Live Chat is an online chat service, available 24/7 when classes are in session. It serves all patrons regardless of their location. To access Live Chat, look for the “Have a Question? Click here to chat with a Librarian” graphic, located on each Library site.

Research tools.

The TROY Library catalog and databases for books and journals are the primary resources for identifying information sources. Databases provide access to more than 50,000 books and articles from more than 18,000 journals.

Interlibrary loan.

This service allows users to request materials that are not available full text in one of the Library’s databases.

Electronic Reserves.

The University Library's electronic reserves system allows students to access their instructors' reserve materials via the Internet. Reserve materials may include journal articles, book chapters, government documents, lecture notes, exams, etc.

Faculty members wishing to use this service should refer to the Electronic Reserves link on the University Libraries home page <http://library.troy.edu>.
