Hello! I want to help ensure that you receive the best assistance possible, so to that end, let me provide a couple of notes for you:
My regular working hours are (Central Time) 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. I am glad to be your first line of contact—my primary job is to assist the members of Global Campus.
If you e-mail or leave a voice mail and do not hear back from me within an expected period of time (24 hours during weekdays), please initiate contact again (don't wait). Remember that you can also use the other methods of contact, listed above (Live Chat, Ask A Librarian, Telephone [Troy Campus Library]), to receive assistance.
When leaving a voicemail, please leave your name and complete phone number(s) by speaking slowly and repeating the critical information. Strongly consider sending a follow-up e-mail to ensure that I have the correct information.
When e-mailing, in addition to your contact information (complete name, e-mail address, telephone numbers), provide key information such as:
- The name of your instructor.
- The title of the class for which you need assistance.
- Your geographical location.
- Specific information about your information needs, for example...
The exact assignment/nature of your research.
What you have already done, e.g., where you have looked.
The types of information you need, e.g., journal articles, books, Web sites.
Always: It is vital that you know your TROY e-mail username and password. This information is absolutely necessary for you to access the Library databases. The databases are the main source of information (books and articles) provided by the Library.
