Financial Management Responsibilities of the Principle Investigator
The Principle Investigator, also known as the Project Director, bears the primary responsibility for the projects with which he/she has been entrusted by the sponsor and the University.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all sponsor guidelines, federal and state laws, and regulations for those projects
- Check financial information monthly and report errors to Sponsored Program Accounting
- Monitor personnel
- Submit Budget Revision Request form for any budget changes
- Timely submission of required information to the sponsor
