Mary Jane Hetrick, Adjunct Faculty
Dr. Mary Jane Hetrick earned a Ph.D. in Public Administration & Public Policy from Auburn University in 2004 where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi with a 4.0 GPA. She earned a master’s degree in public administration from Auburn University Montgomery in 1998, followed by Certification in Nonprofit Management from AUM in 1999 while being inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha and serving as president of Pi Alpha Alpha. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) cum laude from The University of Texas-Pan American in 1991 while playing for the university’s tennis team. She was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma and was named the top senior student-athlete (Ann LaMantia Award).
Dr. Hetrick has been immersed in public and nonprofit administration her entire career. She has worked for The University of Texas-Pan American, The University of Texas-Brownsville, and Auburn University Montgomery and has been an adjunct professor for TROY University since 2005. She has worked with a variety of nonprofit organizations in various capacities--as a consultant, a volunteer, a board member and branch manager of a national nonprofit organization. Along with consulting and volunteer work, Dr. Hetrick teaches a rotation of classes for TROY University, including Executive Leadership of Nonprofit Organizations, Grant Writing for Public and Nonprofit Organizations, Foundations of Nonprofit Organizations, and Public Administration. She previously taught Marketing for Nonprofit Organizations for AUM and served on the Board of Advisors for the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. Dr. Hetrick has published entries in the Encyclopedia of Public Administration and Public Policy on Performance Measurement.
Dr. Hetrick launched Foundation Logic, LLC in 2014 and consults with public and nonprofit organizations to boost capacity and performance. Since returning to Texas, Dr. Hetrick has been elected to the Board of Trustees for Dripping Springs ISD and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Dripping Springs Education Foundation.
