Director's Message
Dear Alumni and Friends,
May is Membership month for the Troy University Alumni Association and as the Alumni Director I want to personally invite you to become an active dues paying member. In 2012, Troy University celebrated 125 years of service to students in Alabama, the United States and around the world, and we look forward with anticipation to reaching even greater heights this year. This is a perfect time for our alumni to celebrate our treasured past while looking forward to a bright future.
Today, Troy University serves nearly 25,000 students worldwide. We are Alabama’s International University, serving 1,000 students from other lands on our campuses in the United States while operating teaching sites in 6 nations abroad. More than 15,000 students take at least one course on-line through eTROY, our distance learning division.
We are also a university that embraces the service of our military men and women. Designated as a “Military Friendly” institution, as well as the recent recognition as the nation’s first “Purple Heart University,” TROY is committed to serving those who serve our country. In January, the University established the TROY for Troops Center that supports military and veteran students’ academic and career success. Two “TROY for Troops” scholarships, established by the University to aid dependents of U.S. service men and women killed in the line of duty, were endowed last fall.
Today the alumni association has over 8,000 dues paying members with 52 alumni chapters in the United States and two international chapters in China and Russia. We currently serve approximately 130,000 alumni around the world.
As an active member of the Alumni Association you can be a great ambassador for your University. To reach this year’s goal of 12,000 dues payers, we are going to need your help. Paying your dues is the easiest and most cost effective way for you to support your alma mater. Please join and encourage other friends and family members to do the same.
Annual dues are only $25.00 and lifetime is $500.00 for a single and $750.00 for a couple. A payment plan exists for lifetime membership. A free gift will be given to everyone joining in the month of May. I look forward to hearing from you.
